D-one Sold Out For Months, New Moulds Under Construction
More than 50 sailors have had the opportunity to test-sail the new D-One dinghy from Devoti Sailing, and they have unanimously come back to the beach with a big smile. From French and Czech Olympic Finn teams to Musto Skiff racers to Laser Champions, the reviews have been extremely positive, as has been reflected by strong orders for more than two months of production.
“We are so excited about this boat, and we simply cannot wait to see fleets of D-Ones growing across Europe,” said Roman Teply, co-founder of Devoti Sailing. “We are enthusiastic to add yet another award-winning boat to Devoti Sailing's history of building some of the world's best racing boats.” That history includes Devoti boats' total domination of the Finn Class with 12 Olympic medals since 1996, the Devoti-designed Star which won 4 Olympic medals in only two Olympic cycles, and the highly-regarded Devoti-built Melges 24, which has won both World and European Championships.
With more demonstations scheduled throughout Europe this summer, demand for the durable carbon D-One is expected to continue rising. “We've begun work on our second set of moulds, and when completed, we will be able to produce 15 boats per month,” said Teply. “The more we produce, the better the racing will be.”
